Once again, it is wonderful to acknowledge and celebrate further success on the Gaelic field, following our Primary Six and Primary Seven students’ admirable achievements in St Aidan’s High School, Derrylin, earlier this week.
Our pupils were delighted to travel to St Aidan’s to participate and compete in the annual Gaelic blitz, as organised by the students and staff, for the six primary schools of the local area.
Many congratulations to every single girl and boy who participated and contributed, both individually and collectively, as a team. Your great efforts and talent ensured that St Mary’s returned victorious to school, on Monday afternoon, having secured the title and winning shield. It was wonderful to note the many compliments paid in terms of your effective team interplay and level of skill, as well as your ability to move the ball to the player in the most optimum position, often. As ever, your exemplary behaviour, and respect shown to all, was most uplifting. Well done!
We convey our sincere appreciation to Mr Kavanagh and Ms O’Rourke, who accompanied our students to St Aidan’s and looked after you, so very well. A special word of thanks is also extended to the organising students and staff of St Aidan’s, including Mr McTeggart, Mr Donnelly, Miss McGloin and Alice, for all your efforts, kindness and hospitality, and to our parents, for your loyal presence and support, as always.
