Our wonderful P6 and P7 children headed off to Derrygonnelly on Friday 21st April, to represent our school in the Fermanagh Cumann na mBunscol Mini 7’s competition, on what was an outstanding day of football.
Both our boy’s and girl’s teams performed superbly well throughout the day, with determined performances in what was a difficult group.
Having battled with great courage, our boy’s team secured a play off game against Kinawley, for a place in the county final. The game played out to be a thriller for all in attendance, going to extra time, such was the standard of play from both teams. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for our gallant team, who played their hearts out. The words of both the referee and the opposing management were that of complete respect, for not only our ability, but for our manner and grace in accepting the result. We, as a school, are so proud of you all. Well done boys!
Following a similarly well fought group phase, our girl’s ended up in a play off game against an excellent Mullymesker team. Having drawn in the earlier game, our girl’s determination shone through as they secured a place in the final against Derrygonnelly. The team definitely saved their very best performance for last, winning and securing a place at Brewster Park on Thursday 4th May, in the county final. Congratulations on an amazing achievement. We look forward to supporting you all in Enniskillen.
