Fáilte go Páirc an Chrócaigh, Ellie! - July 2024

11th Jul 2024

‘Give Respect. Get Respect’...

Our delightful and talented Primary Seven student - Ellie Flanagan - is surely a living embodiment of and testament to the ethos of the GAA/INTO Cumann na mBunscol Respect Exhibition Go Games - ‘Give Respect. Get Respect’ - as she represented her family, school, Club and county with great honour and distinction on Sunday, 7th July, last.

Ellie was selected by Cumann na mBunscol Fear Manach to play at the half-time exhibition game in Croke Park on All-Ireland Senior Hurling Semi-Final Day (a day, of course, which produced a hurling classic and saw Cork defy history and end Limerick’s five-in-a-row aspirations with a second-half display of epic proportions). This was a fitting honour and a most well-deserved recognition of Ellie’s prowess, skill and talent on the playing field, and a tribute to the respect, friendship and thoughtfulness she conveys to all around her, both on and off the field.

Our whole school community sends heartfelt congratulations and very best wishes to Ellie and her lovely family, and trust that 7th July 2024 will hold very special memories for you, in the time ahead. Comhghairdeas agus maith thú, Ellie!

We convey a special word of thanks, also, to the Officers of Cumann na mBunscol Fear Manach and Cumann na mBunscol Náisiúnta, for all their dedication and hard work throughout the school year and who, along with a number of our own school staff, ensure the promotion and playing of our treasured national games in our time, and for the next generation.
