Reflecting on Our Learning and Experiences - ‘Biodiversity and Pollinators’ Workshop - SWC, Enniskillen

4th Feb 2025

Our Primary Six and Seven students were gifted a wonderful opportunity prior to Christmas 2024, when we were invited to participate in a ‘Biodiversity and Pollinators’ Workshop in South West College, Enniskillen. This was kindly hosted and facilitated by the College’s Sustainability Department and, particularly, by its Sustainability Officer - Ms Supriya Foster - to whom we convey our sincere thanks and appreciation.

The ethos and objective of Supriya’s workshop was to educate, inspire and engage ourselves, as young people, in the vital areas of climate change and sustainability, empowering us to learn more about environmental issues. We focused on and explored, especially, the importance of pollinators, and the role they play in the eco-system.

As part of our evaluation and learning from this day, we invite you to share in our video as below, please. We hope it provides you with some insight and understanding into this important issue, alongside an enhanced understanding of our natural world and the importance of conservation.

We are delighted to share, too, some further photographs of our school’s success in SWC’s Sustainability-themed Art Competition. We congratulate Mia who was awarded First Place in the 9 - 11 Years category, alongside Rónán who achieved First Place in the 7 - 9 Years competition. Please share in a selection of our artistic pieces as completed by some of our students.
