The Daily Mile! - Have You Walked Your Mile, Today?
St Mary’s school community is delighted to begin this new academic year by committing to the ‘Daily Mile’ across our classrooms.
The month of September provided the perfect opportunity for us to highlight and encourage the ‘Daily Mile’ initiative and integrate it into our school day, going forward. Of course, walking at least one mile each day very much affirms the aim of the initiative, which is to promote and improve the health and well-being of all our children, young people and adults within our school setting, regardless of age or ability.
Pictured with three of our staff members who help organise, promote and facilitate the early morning walking club within school, each day - Mrs McLaughlin, Mrs Rice and Mrs Prunty - are a group of our delightful students and dedicated walkers! It is wonderful to witness their commitment and dedication daily, and the benefits that accrue both in terms of our physical and mental health.
Our message to all our friends and family members is ‘Get walking and have fun!’
